What People Are Saying

“I was hooked from the start, which is difficult to do with a nonfiction book. This book made me feel truly seen, like I wasn’t out on an island by myself. Each section offers something small and manageable to take on; nothing feels overwhelming, too medical, or overly technical. I love this entire book and cannot wait to have a copy to write in, highlight, and use to create my own action plan.”

-D. C., advance reader, Super Fan Book Club member

“This book was a complete breath of fresh air. Nicole is incredibly knowledgeable, warm, and engaging, and I know so many women will find this book a lifeline. Even while editing it, I began rethinking diet, exercise, and sleep in ways I never had before. It is eye-opening, life-changing, and an absolute game-changer.”

-Cara Lockwood, author and editor

“As a married man this book helped explain what is going on with my wife and her changes in mood, memory, sleep and energy levels. The book helped me understand what is causing her changes and how to help her with tools and support during perimenopause.”

Frequently Asked Questions

Is this book only for women in perimenopause?

Not at all. While You’re Not Crazy focuses heavily on the changes that often begin during perimenopause, it was written for women navigating midlife health more broadly. Whether you are just starting to notice changes in your 40s, are already in menopause, or simply want to better understand what is happening in your body, you’ll find information and practical strategies you can use.

Is this book just about hormone replacement therapy?

No. Hormone therapy is one option discussed in the book, but it is only one piece of a much bigger picture. We talk about sleep, nutrition, strength training, metabolism, stress, recovery, supplements, medications, testing, and other factors that can affect how you feel in midlife. My goal is not to convince you to follow one particular treatment plan. It is to help you understand your options so you can make informed decisions about your own health.

What if my doctor says my labs are normal, but I still don’t feel like myself?

This is one of the reasons I wrote You’re Not Crazy. A “normal” lab result does not always tell the whole story, and not every midlife symptom can be explained by hormones alone. The book will help you understand what may be worth looking at, what questions to ask, and when it may make sense to dig a little deeper with your healthcare provider.

Is this a book I just read, or will it actually help me make changes?

I want you to use this book, not just read it. Throughout You’re Not Crazy, you’ll find practical takeaways, reflection questions, action steps, and simple strategies you can begin applying to your own life. You do not need to change everything at once. The goal is to understand what matters most for you, start there, and build from it.
